Campus Life
Learning to become independent and work with others from wide-ranging backgrounds is the chief benefit of boarding school. For a school of its size and location, Darrow has a richly diverse student body. When students share photographs from home or their music and favorite ethnic foods, the Darrow community experiences an important extension of learning that teachers and textbooks cannot provide.
Darrow prides itself on the strong sense of community that grows out of its campus environment and sense of values. Living on campus, students soon learn the importance of tolerance and consideration for others as they share in the responsibility of group living. They also discover how easy it is to make friendships when living and learning together in a small supportive community.
Classes, Hands-to-Work, tutorial, sports, activities, living together in the dorms—boarding school life provides many opportunities to develop relationships with adults and peers. Day students are encouraged to participate to the fullest extent possible and benefit from the total experience, as well.
Life at Darrow is an intense lifestyle that is both exhausting and satisfying.
