Ultimate Frisbee 5th Annual Shaker Cup

In addition regular season Ultimate Frisbee games, Darrow School will host the 5th Annual Shaker Cup Tournament on Sunday, April 20.

WHERE: New Lebanon, NY (20 min. west of Pittsfield, MA, 45 min. southeast of Albany, NY)

WHEN: Sunday, April 20, 2008,   9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.

WHAT: A 10-team tournament designed for new and less experienced players. These players typically do not have more than two years of ultimate experience or play on a B-level or JV team or do not get many opportunities to compete. This tournament provides an opportunity for those players to get significant competitive experience and an opportunity for coaches to build and practice fundamental skills. FUN STUFF: There will be a small prize/trophy for the 1st and 2nd place team, as well as a spirit award. Breakfast & lunch foodstuffs will be provided, and  there will be a pizza dinner beginning around 4:30. There will be information about the tournament on the website. Check here for the latest information.

HOW TO BID:

Email me (koffd@darrowschool.org) this questionnaire-- or print it out and send it to Drew Koff, c/o Darrow School, 110 Darrow Road, New Lebanon, NY 12125.  The #1 complaint in the past years has been directed at a too-great disparity in the levels of experience between the winners of the tournament and the rest of the teams. If you prefer to have the questionnaire e-mailed to you, please contact Drew Koff.

Deadline: March 7, 2008. All bids must be submitted by this date.

Closer to the date of the tournament you will receive brackets, directions, specific schedule info., etc.

At Darrow - A distictive learning environment

In an age where aggression, disrespect, and hostile behavior in professional and collegiate athletics are commonplace, it can be difficult for students to maintain a positive attitude. Here, we make it our goal to play above all that. Darrow offers students competitive and non-competitive team experiences, where they polish their skills and establish good habits of sportsmanship for all athletic contests. Every player on the field and every Darrow spectator on the sideline is representing the School. We emphasize that the goal is to "Play with Class."
