Commencement 2010
In another unique, emotional ceremony, Darrow graduated its
78th senior class. This year’s group included many academic
standouts, as well as a variety of students who were honored for their
commitment to the study of individual subjects and to campus residential life
and community service.
Speeches by student leaders Do Young Lim, valedictorian and
student body president, and Kevin McGreal, senior orator and multiple award
winner, as well as by Head of School Nancy Wolf and faculty speaker Patrick
Cooke, echoed the many rewards associated with taking risks and discovering who
we are -- as lifelong learners and as people.
Kevin, who found a second home at Darrow, said, “Coming here
gave me a fresh start. I could be who ever I wanted to be, so I chose the
easiest option: myself. . . . Being
around so many people that want nothing more than my success put me in a
place where, this year especially, I really began to think about who I am and
what I want to make of my life. . . . I invite you all to join me in conquering
the fear that stands in the way of what we can become, however hard that may
be.”
